Elizabeth Abati is a sustainability strategist, retail-tech founder, and global policy advocacy leader.

Recently recognised as a 2025 Women of the Future ESG Rising Star and a 2025 Edie 30 Under 30 Sustainability Future Leader, Elizabeth’s work centres on building and scaling profitable business models for sustainable initiatives.

Currently, Elizabeth is a Strategy Manager for Android Growth and Sustainability at Google, where she leads product strategy across six major EMEA markets (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES & KSA). She is responsible for product strategy in these markets to reach premium and secondhand Android smartphone sales and activations targets. Her time at Google has been defined by driving systemic, ecosystem-wide shifts. Most notably, building the business case that underpinned a pivotal contract that enabled the extension of average Android smartphone lifespans from 3-5 to 5-7 years, a systemic shift for an ecosystem of three billion users.

Beyond corporate sustainability strategy, Elizabeth is a recognised voice in international climate policy and advocacy. As a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and a Chatham House Member, she navigates the complexities of global development frameworks. Previously, as the Editor for The Republic journal, she led the Sustainability and Climate Change vertical and shaped regional thought leadership during COP27, conducting interviews with key climate activists and leaders, including Vanessa Nakate. She has also represented as Delegate at the World Bank Youth Summit, UN Economic and Social Council Youth Forum, and UN Women High Level Committee Session.

Recently, Elizabeth founded Atunda Retail, a retail-tech startup utilising a zero-inventory, B2B2C model to target a key root cause of fashion waste and carbon emissions: standard sizing. To combat this, Atunda is developing a proprietary B2B SaaS sizing infrastructure designed to embed directly into global retail checkouts, creating a universal custom-sizing database for consumers.

Under Elizabeth’s leadership, Atunda is successfully scaling African slow-fashion brands to global consumers. Following a highly successful December 2025 concept store pop-up launch in Lagos, Nigeria, Atunda is actively expanding its footprint with a major concept store pop-up on London’s Oxford Street in April 2026.
